Story
It tells the inspiring story of an abused single mother working for a small-town newspaper who is drawn into the investigation of a missile disaster that turns life upside down in a small northern village. It is based on a true story from December 1984, when a Soviet surface-to-air missile drifted from the Barents Sea over the Finnish border and crashed in Inarijärvi.
Is this film a comedy or a drama?
The film wants to be both, and that is its biggest problem. The first half of the film has funny moments and the film is okay.
Director Miia Tervo does a good job
But in the second half the film is more of a drama, also okay, but since it did not develop as a drama in the first half, it falls flat and the film gets worse as it goes on. Oona Airola is good and so are Emma Kilpimaa as actresses.
The cinematography is good
It was also unclear to me why the film was set in 1984, there is nothing in the plot to explain this decision, perhaps just so that 80s music could be used.
